This independent film with a generic title starts with a young guy with a huge Jay Leno-ish chin making faces and noises to himself in a mirror, which makes me think that he's either 1) insane or 2) an actor. As it turns out it's even worse--he's a filmmaker. He goes to a party where everyone is talking about what a great student film he made and they are all treating him as if he's Fellini. I found it really funny that all these little blonde chicks are interested in the nerdy filmmakers and are trying to participate in "film talk". I also wanted to smack all these obnoxious characters in the film school scenes.
The guy meets a black woman at the party and has sex with her. She has these tattoos all over her body. The music during this scene is terrible. When they wake up the next morning they find a video camera on a tripod at the end of the bed, pointing at them. When they play back the mini-dv tape the footage is that of someone being killed. Then things get confusing and all "art schooly". The big questions of the movie are--is the filmmaker a killer? is life mimicking art? or is art mimicking life? I was so irritated by this whole pretentious endeavor that I honestly didn't care. Dvd frisbee, anyone?
