A writer and his librarian girlfriend decide to move out of the city for the Winter and hole up in a cheap Maine motel, where the rates are really cheap because of the Off Season. It's his intention to get some writing done during the day while his girlfriend works at the local library. But he soon gets distracted and ends up spending most of his day out of the hotel room, at a local bar. When his girlfriend comes home early one day and finds him gone, she looks at his laptop computer and sees that he's written the same phrase over and over again, a la THE SHINING.There are some other weird things that happen. Their bed mattress is sometimes covered in blood, then it quickly disappears. Both of them see images of the woman who was presumably slain on that bed. At first, it seems as if the writer is the one being possessed, but then he leaves the woman and it's pretty much her story the last third of the movie. The ending is entirely too predictable. The good points are the performances of Angus Scrimm (PHANTASM series) as a quirky old motel room neighbor and Executive Producer Larry Fessenden as a creepy guy who hangs around the complex. Otherwise, a completely forgettable movie.
