Ethan (Mark Duplass) and Sophie (Elisabeth Moss) are a married couple having problems. He had cheated on her a short time before and now they continue to drift apart. Their therapist (Ted Danson) is frustrated with them and recommends that they go to a quaint retreat out in the country. They go there and everything seems great. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Then some weird things begin to happen. Sophie will leave Ethan in the main house and when she goes to the smaller guest house, a distance away, will find him there, often in a better mood. And Ethan begins to see a more agreeable Sophie in different places. They quickly discover that they have doppelgangers-and these doubles seem to want to fix their problems. But what are they? Ghosts, aliens?
This is one of those movies with only three actors-but it's written in such a way that it keeps you hooked until the twist ending. It's a very weird movie.
