Although this is an entertaining, no-brainer action movie it's basically HIGHLANDER with Matrix type motion effects. The basic premise is that there are many similar Universes, called Multiverses--and one man (Jet Li) is travelling to each one killing the version of himself that lives there. Each time he kills 'himself' he gains more power (strength and intellect)--until there is only one other left. As the villain says 'In the end there can be only one'--but where have we heard that before? Sheesh.
