A Carolignian priest, with the help of his friend is investigating the suicide death of his mentor and digs up alot more than he bargained for. His search for answers soon turns to a search for a being called the sin eater. This being supposedly consumes the sins of non-believers to allow them to gain access to heaven. During the journey and his search for truth, a troubled girl from his past enters the scene. This is a very dramatic and dark thriller that was very well done. There are alot of moments that challenge the validity of the catholic church, which probably pissed off alot of people. There is an evil pope that rules the underground, demons disguised as orphan kids, sex, violence and death... pretty much everything. There are some slow moments in the film, but if you can hang in past those few moments, this one is a good late nite watch.
