There's also a sub-plot about a garage rock band who unleashes one of Satan's minions, a demon appropriately named Kaps (played by Scooter McCrae), who does all sorts of horrible things, sure to offend most of middle America (the scene with the tar and the priest is unbelievable!). Not for the squeamish or religious.
