Not an out and out horror film, but if you wanna see a damn good movie that's also creepy & just plain mean, this is it. You'll never look at children the same after seeing it, that's for sure. This film has some serious mind fucking going on and it's kinda sad to watch at times. The rural mid 30's setting makes for a creepy enviroment. I won't diclose any plot or storyline stuff, but there are some hard to watch scenes here. I saw it when I was young late one night and I didn't enjoy the experience then at all. Like I said, it's not gore or monsters, but worth the watch or read the novel. Have fun, hehehehehehe.
