This is just an 'okay' vampire movie and everything plays out in it exactly how you think it will. Kevin Dillon is an alcoholic cop who is recently divorced (why do 90% of cops in movies fit this scenario?). While investigating a missing girl he comes across a vampire den and is bitten by the 'Master' vampire, who looks like a thick bodied Nosferatu. Dillon goes to his police chief (Lance Henriksen, who was probably hired for the day) and tells him the story-and, of course, the jaded officer doesn't believe him. Then he goes to his ex-wife (Vanessa Angel of the WEIRD SCIENCE TV series, SABERTOOTH) and tells the tale to her. By coincidence, she's a best-selling author who specializes in vampire novels. She believes her ex-hubby-and in fact wants to meet the real vampires because she wants to become one of them. Well, you get the idea what ultimately happens...The makeup effects are goofy in that they look like latex appliances-and the overly large, pointed ears make the vamps look like big leprechauns or something. And why is it, ever since the movie FRIGHT NIGHT, do vampires have to change their appearance when they show their fangs? It used to be that they just showed the fangs-they didn't transform into a werewolf/zombie looking things. Enough!
