The Hype is over, the film is here fiends!! I personally was a fan of the original, and was perplexed by several little mysteries left behind. Thankfully part 2 fills theses little holes with cinematic paste and spackle! And of course it would not be a Hollywood horror film without leaving a few holes of its own for obvious reasons. The original cast returns, even the extremely annoying Mica (you will see why). In the original film I think I was the only one laughing at this jackass's demise in the theatre but I digress…
Katie's Sister and family are the true stars of this film, and you find out it's not really Katie the Demonic presence gives a damn about. It has to do with a loooong overdue unpaid debt, and this demon is here to collect damn it! Whether or not it succeeds is one of the little holes that make a Paranormal Activity 3 an option. The family Dog in my opinion is the hero as it faces down evil without flipping out in terror over falling pots.
This is an Amityville Horror for a new generation, and I for one am digging it. (Check out my BLU-RAY review of the Amityville Horror coming soon)
There is not so much "Shaky - Cam" work here for those with vertigo issues, so watch and enjoy! The video in digital theatres is crisp, clean, and lifelike. The SOUND is amazing, and like the original makes the movie with its presence sounds, and loud Booms!
I don't understand the "R" rating as the language is mild, and there is no blood, or gore. Go figure.
