Although this movie has a good "look" to it, with the exaggerated blue lighting and harsh shadows, it has as much emotional resonance as a rock. Rather than go for the historical accuracy it's presented as "The Untold Story..." and is simply the director's "idea" of what Vikings are and the director's idea of what those American Indians should be.
Karl Urban (LORD OF THE RINGS, CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK) as the Viking raised by Indians is decent enough, though he does have to say lots of badly written lines of dialogue. Clancy Brown is an intimidating villain as the Kreegan--oh - sorry, that's a different movie - here he's Gunnar.
Also, I read in a recent magazine interview in which the director says "this is the first time Vikings and Indians are together in a movie", which is not true. There was a similarly themed movie called THE GREEN STONE, made nearly twenty-years ago, released direct to video.
PATHFINDER is a big, empty Hollywood movie.
