Maureen (Kristen Stewart) is the personal shopper for a celebrity in Paris. She doesn't really like her job but is staying in France because she wants to find out if her twin brother, who died several months before, is trying to contact her from the "other side". She stays in his house and encounters the ghost of an angry woman instead-and this ghost seems to follow her, as she has a few more encounters with it. Then, there's this complete other story in which she's being stalked by someone who knows her, which culminates in the murder of her employer. Her life is way out of control. Although many characters-including herself-says she's a Medium, she denies that there may be life after death, though she admits that there are other energies out there. Basically, she doesn't know what she thinks, which makes her trying to find out what's going on extremely irritating. Then, there's the ending of this excruciating meandering film-I think the director/writer meant this to be profound. Instead, it's just stupid.
