On the heels of the big budget epic, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, comes this made-for-cable movie about the next ice age. Here, it's produced by a comet which hits the Earth after an experimental laser fails to blast it out of the sky.Dean Cain (LOIS & CLARK, RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT) is a government agent who was forced to leave his wife and young daughter behind-and now, three years later, agrees to head an expedition out into the tundra. The expedition, headed by a colonel, is trying to stop the people who have managed to get control of that laser weapon. Whoever it is keeps on blasting planes out of the sky. Cain, on the otherhand, is concerned with finding his lost family and seeing if they are still alive. The tank-like vehicles they travel in are cool as is this group of survivors who have managed to live inside the snow buried buildings. But there's too much secret agent stuff that's too implausible-and I'd rather have seen more of this frozen world.POST IMPACT is just an okay end of the world movie.
