Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) is a police detective who works on the Powers division, which deals with super-human crimes. You see, in this world, there are people born with different powers. Some use them for good, some for bad. In fact, Walker used to be a superhero named Diamond before his powers were consumed by Wolfe (Eddie Izzard, who is great in this part). As the 10 episodes progress we see that Walker misses his abilities and will do nearly anything to get them back. Although Wolfe has been in a maximum secure prison for a long time, someone is using his blood to create a drug that enhances Powers. The drawback is that it can also kill you. Other characters introduced are Retro Girl (Michelle Forbes), Walkers former girlfriend, policeman Triphammer who seems to be half-robot, Zora, an up-and-coming super heroine and Simons, an odd guy who can create numerous duplicates of himself.
POWERS is an untypical superhero series, not quite as good as anything Neflix has put out (Daredevil, Jessica Jones) but it's an entertaining program nonetheless. If you liked the film adaptation of WATCHMEN you'll dig this superhero series. Highly recommended.
