I always forget how damn good this film was; it really kicked ass and surely one of Arnold's top 3 movies. This movie works and every level and spans several different genres, working equally well as a sci-fi film, a horror film, and an action flick. This commando team stumbles into a mess of shit when they head down to some Central American country and encounter one of the most recognizable modern alien creatures we've seen since Alien. Ugly, mean, fitted with technology way beyond our means, and out to collect human skulls for trophies, the predator lands on Earth for little safari that is bad news for anybody in the vicinity. Watching the creature pick apart Arnold's boys, which include Jesse the body and Apollo Creed, is sheer bliss, as the thing ain't playing no games when it come to hunting. Now, the film Without Warning did this year's earlier, but nowhere near as well or with as much cool FX, thought it too is a cool film. Wow, It sure doesn't seem like it's been this long sine part one came out, introducing the world to The Predator. It holds up as good today as in 1987. With Alien vs. Predator just a breath away now, we can only hope bringing the two best modern sci-fi horror franchises together will come as close to being as good as they've been separately. We have never seen enough of this alien in my opinion, so one more glimpse is fine with me. No matter what happens, you still have to recognize this as one of the better films of it's kind ever made.
