If you had the knowledge to save peoples lives, at the cost of your own, would you? Or would you let them die at the cost of your own sanity? These were questions Hideki had to decide on when he came to this fork in the road in this, the second J-Horror film brought from Japan to the USA by Lions Gate Films. When Hideki picks up a newspaper lying on the floor of a phone booth, it fortells his 5 year old daughter's death. Seconds later, a truck - driven by an already dead driver - smashes into Hideki's small compact car. The car bursts in flames before Hideki, or his wife Ayaka, can save 5 year old Nana. With no traces of the newspaper left this drives Hideki mad and his wife to divorce. Three years after Nana's death the newspaper and visions return and this time Ayaka has enough evidence to believe Hideki as they team up to try and stop these premonitions from occuring. The film is worthy of a watch for all those fans of Japanese horror and those who are interested in Japanese horror, but don't know where to start. This reviewer recommends Premonition as a good start into a whole new world of horror and/or a nice addition to any Japanese horror collectors library.
