This is an interesting "Future" movie. In it, "The Purge" was created. Once a year in America there is a twelve-hour period in which all crime is legal. Some people don't participate and choose to lock themselves in their houses, such as James (Ethan Hawke) and Mary Sandin (Lena Headey) and their children. But on this night, after lockdown, their young son Charlie lets a man inside who is pleading for his life. And their daughter has snuck in her boyfriend, who may want to kill her father. Then the neighbors come to their door, demanding they give up the man--or else they'll break in and kill James' family. Things get very tense--until the final showdown between all the neighbors. Arija Bareikis (SOUTHLAND, TWISTED TALES) is particularly good as an evil neighbor. This movie is exactly what you think it is and better than I thought it would be. Recommended.
