This movie is the most fun I've had watching a horror movie in a long time. Andrew Divoff portrays mad scientist Viktor Vasilienko, a Russian scientist who has flipped out after being dismissed for finding a cure for cancer. The government and pharmaceutical companies wanted that covered up, since they make more money treating it, and he was put in an insane asylum, where he finally escaped. To wreak his revenge on the society that has treated him so poorly, he comes up with The Rage virus, which mutates its host into a horrible looking, insane creature bent on killing. It soon crosses over to animals, to these vultures that attack anything that move.
A group of friends who have just gone to an outdoor concert in their camper accidently run into one of the monsters and crash their vehicle. They see that they've run over a creature—and that there's also the vultures, which try to kill them. They run away, through the forest, and eventually end up at Vasilienko's hidden lab. He's now become one of the creatures and insists on doing experiments on the survivors.
There's this weird little mutant henchman the Doctor has, which ends up becoming a dire threat to the surviving girl, as he torments her through an underground lair.
It's a gory, gooey, highly entertaining horror movie, up there with the RE-ANIMATOR and BLOOD ISLAND movies. So far, one of the best horror flicks of 2008.
