Two prisoners escape into the swamp. Just as the police are about to find them the cops are attacked by a huge eel. Not only does this creature have the attributes of a python, as it can climb trees, it's just mean. It kills these guys but doesn't eat them.
Or maybe the monster simply isn't hungry at the time.
Then we go to an animal control office who is called to investigate a missing dog. He's divorced from the town's sheriff. And we know he's probably going to kill the eel at the end of the movie.
There's also a group of college students who are going to the swamp to see if there are any invasive species, such as the Asian eel. Well, they have hit the jackpot. They meet up with the professor they are interning with, who has a sinister English accent. One by one they are killed. There's even a unique variation of the "horror movie shower scene".
RAZORTOOTH is better than the majority of the recent killer animal movies, primarily because it has a good sense of humor. And there are not nearly enough killer eel movies.
