It's been about a dozen years since I last watched this horror classic and it stand well over time. Jeffrey Combs is whacked as the sociopathic Herbert West-and those hyped up zombies give those in RETURN OF THE DEAD a run for their money. Plus, there's all that extreme zombie gore, done way before Peter Jackson ever thought of DEAD ALIVE. There's great characterization and a-such a bumber of an ending. But it works well-and leaves the way open for the sequel, BRIDE OF THE REANIMATOR.
