The newest anthology from producer Joe Zaso (who also stars in one of the segments) is an entertaining excursion into the weird. In the first story a recently widowed man is haunted by a succubus type ghosts. I thought this the weakest of the four stories but it does have the scariest creature. The next story, which reminded me quite a bit of that early Charlie Band movie MANSION OF THE DOOMED, is about a mad scientist who has given his horribly scarred son a new pair of eyes-taken from his mother, no less. The most impressive tale is the one shot in Rome, about an FBI agent who is called by a friend to investigate some strange devil-worship going on in the city. The lead is tailor made for Joe Zaso and it's one of his best performances. There's also a twist ending, though while somewhat predictable, works well. The wraparound story concerns a news reporter who is told all these previous stories when she goes to a theater called Red Midnight. Recommended.Check out the recent interview with Producer/Actor Joe Zaso in the interview section of buried.com
