This made-for-cable TBS original movie isn't so original. There are some shark attacks in a Louisiana river by twelve foot long Bull Shark (only shark that can live in fresh water). A swimmer gets killed and a grandfather fishing with his grandson gets pulled overboard. The main character, portrayed by Lou Diamond Phillips (who is the Andrew Stevens of the 21st Century), is an ex oil driller who is reunited with his ex-wife (Kristy Swanson of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) when she needs him for a new oil drill in Louisiana. He reluctantly agrees to charter out his small fishing boat because he desperately needs the income. There's also a parallel story of some crooks looking for some cash in a lock box that was thrown into that same river five years before. Both the crooks and the oil people eventually converge, people are killed, the rig explodes, blah blah blah. The movie is waterlogged in stereotypes.Interestingly enough, this is executive produced and co-written by J.D. Feigelson, who had produced and written the classic DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW. This is not a good movie for the resume!
