I am a big fan of dragon movies... who isn't? This was a movie I highly anticipated seeing.... and it turned out to be one of the better dragon related flicks I have seen. I thought the back story was well written.. the history of the dragons was plausible and unique. These aren't your cutesy, run of the mill kid-friendly puff the magic dragon types... these are killing machines. These dragons have managed to destroy the cities of the world and whittle humanity down to small droves of people who live in fear and hiding. The story follows a group of these people who are hold out in a remote area in England. Their way of life seems to be getting them by... until a roving band of former US soldiers turned dragon slayers show up to stoke the already burning fires. Now instead of hiding from the dragons... some of them head out to do so hunting of their own. This was a great movie with some minor story plot holes... but we are talking mythological creatures here.. so you have to give the writers some leeway. The special effects were great, especially the dragons. They looked mean and moved with stealthy grace... a picture I always had of dragons in my head. If you are a fan of dragon movies, do yourself a favor and pick this up.
