In order to catch an elusive serial killer known as 'The Torch' a secret government agency decides to test their new replicant project and clones the killer, hoping that the replicant will lead them to the original. They enlist the aid of a retired detective (Michael Rooker)who the serial killer keeps in contact with. Jean Claude Van Damme puts in a good performance as the serial killer/replicant, there are some great action sequences and the first half hour of the movie is very intriguing. Unfortunately the movie turns into a predictable thriller which makes you think that the title doesn't refer to the main character so much as it does to the plot.
