This really does have the feel of the first movie, along with some gruesome killings that'll make you cringe. The only problem is with the mean practical jokes, the over-the-top killings it's a torturous ordeal to watch and I wasn't in the mood for torturous. The main character, Alan is this sort of bipolar teen who alternates between being an asshole bully to being a pathetic loser and the kid who portrays him is a good actor. My biggest problem, however, is the big "surprise" at the end which you can guess five minutes into the movie when a certain character appears, who is clearly not what he's supposed to be.
I much preferred SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2 and 3, as they are far more entertaining.
