Stacy Keach (The Ninth Configuration, John Carpenter's Body Bags) is angry. His son was killed in a hit-and-run by an insane truck driver and he's determined to hunt down the culprit. And what mean culprit he is. In one scene the killer is talking to another truck driver on the radio, who remarks that a babe in a car is approaching. The killer's reply is "watch me dust this bitch". The truck sideswipes the woman's car, which flips over a few times and bursts into flame.
This film reminds me of Spielberg's killer truck movie, Duel. When the identity of the killer is revealed to be Sandahl Bergman (Conan, She), he kicks into overdrive and is determined to drive her off the road, which he does, using another truck. But perhaps because she is a woman and perhaps because this was on prime time television, he doesn't end up killing her. Instead, the police take her away.
