Hideo's sequel pretty much picks up right after the events of the 1st and delivers more dread and evil. This one is nearly as good as the 1st and reveals more secrets behind Sadako's curse. The girlfriend of the last victim from the original tries to discover what's happened and is soon sucked into the twisted net of the curse. Reiko and her son have gone into hiding, having been lucky to escape alive. But soon more tragedy hits the pair, the curse it seems if far reaching. Mai tracks them down for some answers, but doesn't get much as the mother and son are still dealing with the trauma of the curse. With the help of a male friend from work, she finds out more info and begins searching for the truth. What she finds is far worse than she ever thought or wanted to know. The creepy adventure that follows will keep you watching intently until the end. The end here is another extremely scary moment as with the original. There are many weird things going on in Ring2 and it's a great continuation of the story. The pool scene stands out for creepiness also. If you like the Ring, you'll wanna see part deuce. Nakata's made two excellent, dark films here and deserves credit for these late 90's classicks. It doesn't have to always be in your face to be good, the proof lies with here in Ring 2.
