I wasn't sure what to hope for or think about here. I really hadn't thought there'd be a sequel. I like the Japanese films a lot; I liked the American version of Ring a lot. This part two left me with mixed feelings. Overall, I'd say it's good, but not good as the 1st and certainly not as good as the Japanese films, though didn't the same director do this one? Some Japanese guy did. This Ring 2 varies greatly from the original two, but works well as a direct sequel from 'our' Ring. The thing that got me is that it felt a little slow and predictable at times, and only 3 people died that I remember. Still, it's a good movie and does have creepy moments unraveling the history behind what's going on. One of the best parts was when Rachel finds and visits Samera's real mother who turns out to be Carrie (uh, I mean Sissy Spacek), who offers some really disturbing and scary news, but Coalminer's Daughter is a bit vague in the help department. I liked the ending and if that's it, it's a fitting end. I also liked Rachel's hi-beams at the end; must have been cold in the studio that day. Thanks! I guess Ring Two suffers from what any part two does and that's we have become familiar with the story and the characters enough where nothing is unexpected. Guess this was probably as good as we could get, but I had hoped for a bit more. The deer attack scene was strange though.
