Yet another clunker from the Sci-Fi channel. This one's about a scientist who has cloned a sabretooth tiger and accelerated its growth to an adult. They believe they'll make their fortunes by this rapid growth process, cultivating new organs for transplant patients. Why they cloned the prehistoric beast is never explained. Anyway, the truck transporting the tiger crashes when the driver falls asleep, the creature escapes and eats the driver. Then he starts attacking people who are either living or camping in the woods. While all this is happening some camp counselors are being trained by a buxom blonde, who, of course, used to be in a relationship with her co-instructor. By this time the scientists (John Rhys-Davis, Jessica Angel) have employed a hunter (David Keith) to hunt down the sabretooth, telling him that it's an escaped African Lion they were experimenting on. He soon finds out different. The animatronic effects with the tiger's head and claws are really well done but the computer effects make it look like Scooby Doo with long teeth. Overall, this movie didn't have much bite.
