The movie begins with a voice-over explaining what a sadist is while we see the crazy eyes of the movie's title character. Then, three school teachers--two nerdy guys and a woman-- are stranded in an isolated junkyard when their car breaks down. At first it seems as if the place is deserted. Then, a hoodlum (Arch Hall Jr.) and his slutty girlfriend show up to torment them.
I've heard a lot of great things about this movie so when I finally watched it I was disappointed. My biggest gripe is the "Sadist" character, who seems very retarded (I think "THE RETARD" would be a better name for this movie). I also didn't care much about the main characters, particularly the woman teacher, who was devoid of personality. Granted, for the year in which it was made (1963) this was probably an intense experience for movie-goers. For me, in 2010, I could barely stay awake while watching the DVD...
