This is the most evil Christmas-themed movie I've seen. Over twenty-years ago there was a ton of hoopla about the first SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT movie, about a slasher who wore a Santa outfit. Well, in this made-for-tv movie, it's the actual Santa who is doing the slaying.
The movie starts off with him coming down the chimney in some rich family's home and he then proceeds to kill them as they are sitting down to eat dinner. The parents are Fran Drescher and James Caan. It's hilarious.
The premise is that a thousand years ago Santa (the son of Satan) lost a bet with an Angel and so had to be good and giving during Christmas. But the bet has ended and he's back to his wicked ways, bringing violent death and misery during the Holiday season. Of course, it's up to a boy and his grandfather to stop him.
Although the ending is a bit cheesy it's worth checking out for the sheer weirdness.
