Sasquatch may be one of the rarest of the Bigfoot films made may back when people actually reported seeing his big, hairy ass. I looked for this one for years before finally getting my hands on a video CD version from bijou flix.com. It was a good print they used to transfer and I was happy enough with that end of the deal. Now rare and cult status does not a film make and Sasquatch is nowhere near the top of my favorite Bigfoot movie list, hard to beat Night of the Demon and Snow Beast in my opinion. It's basically bloodless and a little slow on action, however, I did enjoy the way the film is told in a 'Mondo' pseudo-documentary style. The added realism and action scenes, mostly through retold stories, gives the S'quatch a cool atmosphere. Good thing too, cause the movie is a bit slow, though I didn't mind that fact so bad. It meanders along just like the group of adventurers out to tranquilize a Bigfoot. The cinematography offers some awesome nature shots and there's some cool animal footage inserted along the way. The skeptic of the party even manages to get mauled by a grizzly. The final confrontation with Bigfoot lacks the punch I was hoping for but does get a bit creepy. Sasquatch kinda mirrors Bigfoot's real life exploits, as everything is kept hidden just out of sight. We never get our 'foot in this one just like no one ever got theirs years ago. What exactly ever happened to Bigfeets anyway? You never hear much about the beasts these days. No Sightings, no new stories, and no publicity or hoaxes, what gives?
