A man, his wife and young son are stranded on a tropical island in the early 1900's and must cope with the idea that they'll probably never be rescued. The parents must teach their son how to survive in the wilds, since he'll probably still be alive after his folks are dead, and the father embarks on endless teaching of 'the strong kill the weak'. When the son reaches manhood he realizes that his enemy is no longer his deadly environment but his loneliness. His parents have each other but he has no one. And with no other woman to direct his needs towards he starts falling in love, in the wrong way, with his mother. Eventually he decides that his father is his enemy and that he must eliminate the old man in order to marry his mother. There is a battle between the two men and a rather surprising ending to the movie. Directed and starring George C. Scott, written by Max Ehrlich & Frank De Felita (AUDREY ROSE).
