This low-tech Sci-fi movie begins with an exploratory group on a new planet. They are swinging machetes though it's not a tropical but deciduous forest, so no one needs the big knives to get around. One woman accidently cuts the hand off a guy (those damn machetes), he falls into a pit, dunks his bleeding stump into a puddle of green goo and rapidly regenerates his hand. Then a giant grizzly-looking bear shows up, so that honestly doesn't matter.
Back on Earth, six months later, the richest company in the world selects another team to teleport to the planet and explore it. They are told they must recover a type of new plant which can re-oxygenate the Earth's atmosphere, since the rain forests are long gone. They are really there to get a sample of the green goo so the company can sell it to cure cancer, et cetera. But the group is killed, one by one by the planet's most ferocious predators-- those giant prehistoric bears. Only here they are smarter and hunt in packs. There are lots of CGI gore effects, primarily humans getting their heads swatted off like T-balls. This isn't a terrible movie but it is an odd one.
