Well, sequelitis happens, doesn't it? While I liked SCREAM 2 a lot, the formula begins to wear thin with this sequel. In retrospect, it was probably better to keep things to one classic original movie, but never in Hollywood...Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, now in college trying to recover from the maniac attacks of a masked killer (in high school). A big movie is being made on her life, and the killings begin anew...This one started out slow and forced to me. By the middle, it almost loses steam then kicks into high gear with some great setpeieces (like the car crash scene where the girls have to crawl over the unconscious killer to get out!). Then the ending hits and I loved the way it all comes together, doing justice to the original movie! So after a slow start, I really dug this movie. The hip dialogue is still cool, the performances are great (in particular Liev Schreiber as Cotton, he is a standout in this flick!).Craven delivers edge of your seat suspense again, and the attack scenes are heartstopping! Plus I think there's an appearance by Buffy The Vampire Slayer, so that was a treat as well...Anyway, if you liked the orginal Scream, this one is a fun time, while not quite as good as the original!
