Doug, a wedding videographer, is huge horror fan with aspirations of making his own movies. When he encounters Ralis (Al Durago), the creepy lead singer of a theatrical rock band, they set out to make their own horror film. But during the murder scene the special effects turn out to be far too real, for Ralis is really killing them. Doug, while surprised, is nevertheless fascinated by this real life horror...and the grisly murder scenes continue. Most of the murder scenes are over the top, courtesy of diretor Doug Ulrich, who is also a professional makeup artist: The scene where a hanging woman is chainsawed in half is the highpoint of this gorefest. Competently shot and acted, this slasher film offers a slightly demented representation of the world of micro-budget filmmaking--in fact, the movie is 'loosely' based on film maker Doug Ulrich and Al Darago's early years of making movies.
