Every so often I come across a movie I can't watch after the first fifteen minutes...and SHADOWS OF THE DEAD is one of those. A young couple, in their SUV, get a flat tire at night out in the country. Although it's supposed to be in an isolated area there's lots of light because of all the smoke from the smoke machine (it refracts light, makes everything brighter). The occupants have 0 chemistry between them and seem like actors acting rather than characters in a movie. Then, they see a dead body in their headlights. The guy goes to investigate-and then comes back to the truck with his neck bitten, which looks like some red karo syrup smeared on his neck. . They don't even show him getting bit! They decide to abandon the vehicle, although they can probably drive on the flat for another ten miles. As soon as they get out of the car zombies try to grab them-so they run until they get to a conveniently furnished cabin, where the woman asks the guy about his bite-'Maybe we should get you to a hospital', Well, if they have no car and just ran on foot through the woods, I don't think they're going to be getting to a hospital anytime soon. Well, that's it because at this point I stopped watching it. Maybe you'd be able to get a bit further but I doubt it.
