The premise of this movie is that a new drug called ACE has appeared on the market. A Jake Busey look-alike has a sample of the drug to distribute at this big party he is holding. Days before this event, he puts a few drops of it in his roommate's drink and she has a bad reaction. You see, this drug makes people crave the red stuff. The next day she does go to the hospital after she throws up a ton of blood-and their tests show that it was someone else's blood, not her own. During her time on the drug she had killed two of her friends, though she does not remember doing it.A crazy old man contacts her and tells her that the drug is dangerous. He knows this because he's the one who 're-invented' it in the 1960's. He then explains (at which point the movie goes to a flashback sequence of events) that it was used in the middle ages, primarily by travelling gypsies, and that it is the basis for all of the vampire legends. In fact, even Vlad Tepes was a heavy user of the drug. She warns her crazy roommate that the drug is dangerous and he doesn't believe her. In fact, he goes on with his party, which is held at an abandoned farmhouse out in the country. The drug is distributed and soon after all his friends start becoming these maniacs. At this point the movie has the 'Night of the Living Dead' scenario, with a few unaffected people barricading themselves in the house against the blood-thirsty partygoers. It also reminded me of that 70's movie, BLUE SUNSHINE. In SIDE FX there is plenty of blood flowing and actually has a new take on vampires. From www.maverickentertainment.cc
