This Masters of Horror episode is like an old TWILIGHT ZONE episode gone wild and gory. A drab guy named Larry, who is a manager at a tech support company, starts hearing everything. This is a problem, since his job at work is to monitor service calls. We find out that he hasn't been dealing with the death of his young son very well and his increasing sensitivity to sound may be because of this. It gets to the point that raindrops sound like jackhammers. He even goes into a library for refuge but can't even stand the sound of people turning pages of a book or the typing on a keyboard.
Eventually he does find a way to make things more quiet, at the expense of his wife. This is one of those stories in which the character starts off in a bad place and things get worse and worse....
