A man (Ralph Fiennes) is released from an insane asylum and retraces the events and places that had eventually put him there. At first everything seems very straight-forward,but midway through we start to realize how much he's actually hallucinating. In many of the flashbacks he's seen standing there, watching his younger self, an effective way of putting himself into the events of the past. Although it has a somewhat simple plot and the crime he committed is fairly obvious, it's still a creepy look on someone's descent into insanity.
