What a weird zombie movie. For some unexplained reason 15-17 year-old girls start becoming man-eating zombies soon after they experience NDH-Near Death Happiness. The term for them is STACY. The victims are overcome with this euphoria, which literally makes them giggling school girls. The squads that kill the zombies are called Romero Squads and one of the weapons used to chop them up is called 'Bruce Campbell's Right Arm 2'. One of the stories concerns a man who joins the Romero Squad because his sister turned into a Stacy and he had to kill her. But when he's confronted by the zombie of his girlfriend he protects her and wants to run away with her, which is something you never do with a Stacy. There's also a story about a puppeteer who befriends a NDH girl, who wants him to kill her when she changes. He enjoys her company when she's alive-and must make the decision of what he's going to do when she dies and comes back. There's also a mad scientist who does these gruesome experiments on Stacys, somewhat like the 'Dr Frankenstein' character in Romero's DAY OF THE DEAD. At times goofy, at times creepy, STACY is an extremely original take on the zombie genre. It's worth seeing just to see how odd it is.
