Whatever happened to title sequences? Ever since LOST, every Supernatural or sci-fi show this season is purposely lacking them. I guess they save on theme songs... Anyways, SURFACE is perhaps the oddest of 2005's new sci-fi/horror series, about giant dragon like creatures that are suddenly appearing around the world, causing environmental changes. There's a scuba diver who loses his brother to one of the creatures, an obsessed scientist who wants to prove the existence of these creatures to the world, and a kid who keeps a newly hatched dragon as a pet. After six/seven episodes some of these character's stories have intersected, though I'm curious what will happen with the domesticated creature.The program is a little slow-paced but makes up for this in sheer strangeness. I have absolutely no idea where they're going with this show or what will happen next, yet I tune in each week. Maybe it also helps that I'm a Godzilla fan....
