Although this is kind of a cheap looking movie with goofy giant rubber scorpions, the entertaining script more than makes up for this. A group of scientists are taking a charter flight from Australia to Los Angeles. On board is their experiment-a new genetically created species of scorpion -that is dormant in sealed containers. One of those scientists, wanting to make a fortune, goes down to the baggage compartment of the plane and tries to switch the specimens into a different container. He's caught by security and after a scuffle the security guy is killed with a ski pole through his forehead. The scorpions escape and for some not clearly defined reason grow to about four feet in length. They start stinging and killing all the passengers until only the bad guy, a woman scientist (she used to be the girlfriend of the bad guy), two of the passengers and a generic captain are alive. There's also the queen scorpion, who's pissed. In one scene, after the bad guy kills the security man, you can see one of the movie's production crew standing off to the side, with white shorts and tennis shoes! Didn't they think anyone would notice? As I said, this is a fun movie, far more entertaining than the last BOA or SPIDERS movie.
