Somethings going down in Beaver Falls and with a name like that, well let's just say it sounds like a great place to be. However, beaver isn't what's fallin' here folks. The dead are rising and the living are falling victim to the hungry hordes in this fun, over-the-top short film. This shorty is both well filmed and full of great scenes and ambition. My only bitch is that it is only 40 minutes or so and doesn't feel complete. Hell, maybe I just wanted to see more of Beaver Falls. Anyway, everybody knows I like rural, redneck horror and this delivers. It has tons of blood, gut munching, and some goofy assed characters. Never thought I'd see decent zombie action come from Oregon, but here it is and even though short on time, it is very enjoyable. The FX are better than the average SOV shit. The look is very clear and I'm impressed on the way this was filmed. Nice simple story (how complicated does getting your ass chased by the undead in the woods need to be?), competent acting, and direction with an eye toward what's needed help this thing roll on. T.D.Z. is perfect for the ADD sufferer in your family. We can hope that this is someday turned into a feature or perhaps a longer sequel. Included on the tape I watched was a cool even shorter short film called Zombie Dawn which was also very cool and extremely brutal in the gore department. Lots of good stuff in this lil' thing too. The FX were truly well done for the budget. This stuff can be found through horroronfilm dot com, so look for it if interested.
