Lisa (Clare Kramer of BUFFY, GRAVEDANCERS) is a stripper/former drug-addict who is dying of cancer, so she opts to become a vampire when the opportunity arises. She lets her co-dependent boyfriend (Matt Keesler) Maxx believe that she's dead. He was extremely upset when he found out she had cancer and didn't tell him so there's no telling how he'd react with this other news...
But he does find out and agrees to have her transform him into a vampire, so she rips out his throat and he drinks her blood. He now belongs to a vampire "family", which consists of the woman who turned Lisa, a cowboy vampire (Adam Baldwin), two weird twins and Darius (Jeremy Sisto).
This isn't the first time vampirism has been used as an analogy for addiction in a movie - Abel Ferrera's THE ADDICTION is better - yet this is an interesting movie that has a satisfying story. It's also interesting that it features three actors who have either been in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER or ANGEL (Clare Kramer, Adam Baldwin and Tom Lenk).
