This is an intriguing time-travel movie that is mostly successful at also being a horror movie. At first the inadvertent time traveller is rather stupid, because he has no idea what's going on, but each time he goes back (and he goes back in time more than once) to try to set things right, the more he's able to "fix" things. But in order to do this he has to commit horrible crimes in order to preserve the status quo. The movie does start off slowly, but quickly escalates as the stakes are raised.
