I remember seeing this flick on Elvira in it's heavily edited version & I knew there was more to it than what I was seeing. Thank god for video & bootleggers. This movie is a Spanish film directed by Amando De Ossorio and it has incredible atmosphere (the best thing about it!) The sets are eerie & the make-ups are cool as shit. The eyeless corpses of the Templar Knights are out for blood and they get it. This movie was the 1st in a series of blind dead films by the director & they all have that same creepy atmosphere, nudity, blood, & all around coolness. The new remastered subtitled version with the gorgeous picture quality is the one to have. It blows away the old paragon print & others that don't have the entire ending. Did I mention some cool lesbian undertones? What more can ya want? I have always loved Ossorio's work & this series is his crowning achievement. Not quite as gory as many zombie films, but the feel of this film is what makes it enjoyable to watch. The hooded eyeless dead ride horses too, now that is talent. How many living blind people do ya know that do that? Hail Knights Templar!
