Although this is more of a murder/mystery than a horror film it does involve a serial killer. While recording a song for his new album singer/musician Paul Matthews (Billy Franks) realizes he has also recorded the sounds of a woman being murdered on one of the song's tracks--a murder that is happening right outside the recording studio's doors! When he gets enough nerve to open the door he sees the dead girl covered in blood. The police soon arrive and believe he has something to do with it. He pleads innocent. But the police dig up some dirt on Matthews--and there's always the sense that he's hiding something. Is he the killer? Or maybe it's the female cop who has developed a more than professional interest in Matthews? I can't tell you too much. Mick McCleery's TRACK 16 is an extremely good example of a true independent movie--done totally outside the mainstream system. The digital image is very crisp and there's over two hours of extras on the DVD, including a 1 hour storyteller video, deleted scenes from the movie and out-takes.
