I'm not sure how this one slipped past me. Maybe it's the title or the nondescript dvd box. Regardless, this is an intense, "Horror-torture" flick that could easily be called HOSTEL 3. The only difference is that it takes place on a train.
A co-ed American college wrestling team is competing in Russia. After a meet a group of friends are invited to a local party by a Russian guy from another team. So rather than staying in their hotel room for the night, in preparation for an early train departure, they all sneak out and go to the party. But they get lost on the way back and miss their train to Odessa, much to the dismay of their coach, who waited behind for them. Luckily, a Russian woman informs them that her train goes through Odessa. So they board her train and everything is okay at first. When two creepy workers ask for everyone's passports and then burn them a short time later, it's clear that they aren't getting off this train. Another hint are all the crippled and disfigured people who are passengers.
The Russian woman approaches the coach at dinner and they go back to his cabin, for what he thinks will be a good time. She knocks him out with a syringe. When he awakens, strapped to an autopsy table, a mean looking bald guy is removing his organs. When he starts to scream the guy snips off his tongue and plops it into a jar. The college students are in another car, playing a game of "Truth or Dare". One of them is dared into running to the end of the train and back, in his underwear. He doesn't come back, which begins to worry his girlfriend, Alex (Thora Birch). So she investigates and discovers that everyone else on the train is involved in these murders...
As I said, this is one intense movie. In fact, the movie's intro credits are intercut with a guy being skinned alive. If you enjoy TURISTAS, the SAW and HOSTEL series, you will love this.
