Dale (Tyler Labine of REAPER, INVASION) and Tucker (Alan Tudyk of FIREFLY, DOLLHOUSE) are two good-natured rednecks who are on vacation at a mountain cabin they inherited. However, there's a group of college kids camping in the area who are afraid of them, presumably because they've seen too many movies like THE HILLS HAVE EYES and DELIVERANCE. Through a series of mishaps these students begin dying in horrible ways, though Tucker and Dale have nothing to do with their deaths. But the survivors think the duo do. In one of the more memorable scene Tucker is using a wood chipper machine near the cabin and one of the youths tries to attack him. Instead, he ends up running headfirst into the grinding machine, turning him into hamburger.
Will Tucker and Dale survive these crazy, misguided students? Or will they all kill themselves and take care of the problem?
This hilarious premise is successfully pulled off by the performances of the two leads.
TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is one of the more clever spoofs of the "Slasher Movie" sub-genre, up there with BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON (2006).
So far, this is one of the best horror movies of 2012.
