The trailer for this movie makes it seem a lot more action-oriented and quick paced than it actually is.
During WWII, a young boy in Scotland, near Loch Ness, discovers a barnacle encrusted egg washed up on the beach. He takes it home and it hatches. He names the creature, which sort of looks like a plesiosaur, Crusoe, and attempts to hide it from his mother. But complications arise when a local Army regiment camps on their property and when Crusoe starts to rapidly grow in size. With the help of the new handyman he lets the creature, now the size of a small pony, go in the Loch. And then it grows some more?
The special effects are convincing but I found the story a bit slow and somewhat predictable.
